My Opinion:
I strive to be a godly wife, one that is beautiful to both God and my husband – most often I fail but there are small successes as well. If like me, you need a little help then you must check out Sandy Ralya’s Beautiful Wife which will give you a lot of help on your way to becoming a beautiful wife – you still may not be perfect but you’ll have something which will help you on your way and to pick you up when those days come that you don’t feel like being a beautiful wife.
The book covers equipping for the journey, cultivating mystique, speaking truth in love, managing money, professionalizing the roles of wife and mother, and many others – in total there are 12 areas that will be reflected upon either in a group or individual setting. There are several ways to run a small group listed in the mentor guide such as once a week for 12 weeks, twice a month for six months, once a month for twelve months or make up your own schedule that fits to each one in the group. The mentor’s guide is a great resource and inspiration to the woman leading the group with how to start a group, mentor instructions as well as a weekly laid out plan for each chapter in Beautiful Wife.
The prayer journal goes along with the study and while you don’t need it, this to me is the icing on the cake for the study. This will help in aiding you on your individual trip through the book, such your husband’s prayer requests and your own and the answers to those prayers. This isn’t your typical study where you thoughtlessly write in your answers, this will have you praying daily for you, your husband and your marriage and making you aware of how God answers those prayers – maybe not the way you want them answered but in how He will answer them.
So, if your a woman who needs some encouragement in her marriage or you have a large group of women in your church who need mentoring in this area then check out the Beautiful Wife study that will begin you on a path of beautifying your marriage so that it will bring God the glory and honor He is more than deserving of.
