Looking back on 2007

Today is the last day of 2007!  I am finishing up the last of 6 years of marriage and marching into my 7th.  Our anniversary falls on January 1st.  A lot has happened over the last 12 months, well maybe not a lot but it sure felt like it at the time.

In January last year we celebrated 6 years of marriage, which in today’s world is becoming more of an accomplishment as more people divorce.  We have three beautiful, healthy children.  Which I am very thankfuly for, especially when I think of the parents out there who are not so fortunate, but are blessed none the less.  Children are always blessings no matter what.

February saw the 5th birthday of my first born, Hannah.  She has grown so much this year.  She has come thru when I have been so sick I can’t get off the couch and she finally, after much tears, lost that first tooth.  She got $2, we saw it as special since it was her first, under her pillow.  She sold wreaths and crafts at our home school group’s craft fair.  She started kindergarten and loves it.  Spoke up and told me she didn’t like the first curriculum we were using so we switched.

My dad and step-mom also celebrated 6 years of marriage.

March was my DH bday, can’t tell you how old he is.

In April, we lost my very loved Grandpa.  Here are the posts related to my Grandpa and

In May on Mother’s Day my brother married a wonderful lady whom I am proud to call my Sister-In-Law.  She is a wonderful woman who the Lord definitely blessed my brother with.

In June and July were my brother’s Tyler and Ryan’s birthdays and of course my little man’s 1st birthday, Christian turned 1, wow he is growing fast, it seems like he is actually growing faster than my girls.  The 4th of July was hard as it was my Grandpa’s birthday and he wasn’t here this year to celebrate with us.

August saw my 29th year here on earth.  Yep I will be soon be 30!!!!  LOL  Now I have to stop teasing my wonderful friends about their old age 😀

September Bethanne turned 3!  Oh my goodness, I just can’t believe it-she is turning into a lady with a somewhat rough exterior but with the Lord’s help that will change.  She would be what some would call a tom boy but in dresses LOL.  September was also when I began babysitting my friend’s twins.  Both girls began AWANAS, Bethanne being a Cubby and Hannah a Sparky.  Hannah also had ear tubes put in this month.

October was the tryouts for the Nutcracker in which Hannah was given two parts, the Party Scene in Act I and The Homeland Scene in Act II.

November gave us a wonderful Thanksgiving which we spent at home.  Along with more rehearsals.  I gave my notice regarding not being able to babysit anymore, too "far behind" according to DH in school.

December saw us the end of rehearsals and the culmination of all our hardwork, especially Hannah’s when we got to see the finished product of The Nutcracker.  We also had a blessed Christmas and were able to spend Christmas Eve with family and Christmas Day at home with my mom and brother.

Of course there were the colds and flus and trips to the dr.  There were times of tears and laughter.  Doesn’t God tells us in His Word that there is a time for each of these things?  Yes.  As we enter a new year at times I find myself wondering what will the tears be brought on by this year, will we laugh and rejoice at a new birth in our family?  Will we cry at the loss of a loved one or pet?  I don’t know but God carries it all in His hands and He will know what we need when the time comes wether it is to mourn with us or to rejoice with us God is there and He alone will see us through.

So with that I will leave you with Blessings for the New Year that you and your family will see happiness, health and that God will be with you through out all phases of this New Year, 2008

Friday Feast 173

Name 2 things you would like to accomplish in 2008.  Wow, there is a lot I want to accomplish, finish my son’s quilt and start and hopefully finish the other 5 waiting, sew some dresses, and if the Lord sees fit have a Christmas baby LOL

With which cartoon character do you share personality traits?  Not sure, not really been into cartoons.

What time of day (or night) were you born?  I was born almost at midnight so instead of 8-8-78 it would have been 8-9-78 which doesn’t flow as well LOL, just kidding-I like all my eights though 🙂

Main Course
Tell us something special about your hometown.  HHhhmmmm we have the Battle of Peckuwe  and we have four sister cities: kraqujevac, Serbia; Casey, Australia; Pite ti, Romania; Wittenberg, Germany  There is actually a lot more history (special to me is history) to my little city but these are some notable.  Oh yeah, my first daughter and I were born at the same hospital.

If you could receive a letter from anyone in the world, who would you want to get one from?   Not sure, the ones that I would love a letter from, Great Grandparents have passed away, but it would be great to hear what Heaven is like.  Maybe a letter from my Grandpa Littler telling me his story-I like to learn how it was back in the day-he is still living but can no longer talk.  Also a letter from my old Navy buddy whose intials are S.C. she was a great friend in the Navy whom I lost touch with after I left the U.S.S. Kittyhawk.

God bless

Final Scrappin Sunday for 2007

Just post your TA-DA’s for the week, your TO-DO’s for this coming week (plans/goals), and share pictures if you’ve got any. And for this week’s "bonus question": What are your craft-related goals for 2008?

Late again LOL.  Well right now the goals I have are to get the kid’s Christmas pic sent to Walgreens and get it picked up on Monday (today) as I want to make them each a page for their scrapbooks and then one page for a family album and one to go in the picture frame.  My craft related goals for 2008 is to keep learning my crocheting, make some undergarments for my daughters and myself, sew some cat and dog toys, catch up on Scrapbooks, start Christmas cards early this year as well as Christmas presents LOL  yep already looking toward next Christmas, finish up Christian’s quilt finally and start the other 5 that are waiting, yep 5 quilts.

I need a name

This will stay at the top of my blog until I decide a name.

I want to set up a seperate blog for just my crafting endeavors but I want a neat, catchy name that says it all about me in very little words.  Some of you know me very well and while others don’t so here are some little tidbits about me…….

*I am a mom of three so far

*I am married

*I am a housewife

*I am a Christian who loves God

*I love crafting, wether it’s quilting, crocheting, cross stitching, card making, scrapbooking, altering, etc I like it or want to learn it.

Okay well I think that about sums up what I am for the most part LOL.

I don’t have anything to give away for the name I choose so it will be from the kindness of your heart.  Please leave me a comment about what you think I could call my new blog, this blog will still be updated, for crafts only.  I’d like to have this new blog up by mid next week so comment away 🙂

God bless and Thank you.

Christmas Eve

These are pictures of Christmas Eve.  We went to my dad’s and step-mom’s where my brother and sister in law and my half brother were there.  It was very nice and we had a good time.

And we got a late start on the gingerbread house, Hannah had free reign in decorating once Bethanne decided she was done.

We also went over to the children’s Great-Grandparents but things were so busy there I didn’t get a chance to take any pictures.

God bless.

The Nutcracker

Here are pictures that I took at Hannah’s last rehearsal for the Nutcracker:

Her in her Party Scene costume, yes, she was the only without a bun.  I hated all the eye makeup on her in this picture she has eyeliner and mascara on but at least she knows and understands we don’t wear it and there is no need for makeup outside of a theatrical production.

A scene from the Party, this is the girl who played Clara and Scott (who produces the show and teaches ballet and dance) who played Herr Drosselmeyer.

The Homeland Scene, Hannah is in the pink with headscarf.  Sorry Pam, I can’t remember what the outfit is called-please leave us a comment 🙂

Sorry about the ballerina leg in the way but it was the best close up I could get:

And a Scene from Act 2 with Clara and the Prince:

I can’t wait to be able to try out next year along with Hannah and maybe even Bethanne!!!!

God bless.
