Homeschool Mother’s Journal

on July 6, 2012

In my life this week:

This week has been fairly quiet.  We did go to a recheck with my oldest daughter’s orthopedist and he was not happy that she hasn’t been able to wear her brace as the prosthetic lady we see isn’t making it comfortable for her to wear so now we have to go back in 3 months to see what the damage is.  We also had a trip to the urgent care for severe ankle pain in the same daughter – apparently the fall two weeks ago at camp caused her to develop tendonitis – the good news is the dr thinks she’ll be fine to do dance camp in two weeks.

Also gearing up for us to restart our 12-13 school year at the end of July – we’ve had to take a break with the college for kids and such going on.  My son and oldest have one more class left then the girls have dance camp.  Also trying to stay cool – our a/c has been working overtime with this heat wave, as I write the temp is currently at 101 degrees but the dew point makes it feel like a cool 109!  Thankfully I have not been having heat/humidity induced migraines but I’ve also been staying inside.

Also on a good note, I’m losing weight.  I started back into eating low carb and am trying to keep that under 100 per day and trying to stay under 1800 calories a day.  I’m feeling better and even my husband and mom notice I’ve dropped some.

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing:

Not much, it’s too hot to drive in a van without a/c so besides the specialist and the urgent care dr we haven’t really seen many people.  It’s even to hot for my son to go to his un-a/c dojo for karate.

I’m praying for:

My friend and her husband have a beautiful infant daughter who has a severe heart defect – they are trying to get her to gain weight as the surgery needs to be expedited as her little heart isn’t working as well as it needs to.  If you feel led please keep this family in your prayers, this is their first child.
