CWA: NuNaturals Stevia review and giveaway

on December 31, 2012

I’ve tried Stevia before – and have been less than impressed with it – usually it’s bitter and leaves an aftertaste.  Thankfully I was sent some NuNaturals Stevia products to try out as part of Christian Women Affiliate and I’m so glad that I made it as part of this review!

Most of my friends and family know that I can’t have artificial sweeteners like aspartame because of migraines and I can’t have sucralose because it’s affects on the digestive tract – so I’m usually left using regular sugar which isn’t healthy either since I’m a Type 2 Diabetic who is trying to reverse the disease.

Enter NuNaturals – they sent me the following items:

I currently use the liquid NuStevia in my coffees, teas and I mix the vanilla in with my hot cereals for a little sweetness.  I haven’t tried baking with the Stevia yet but I’m going to make some cookies using the Tagatose which browns like sugar, is prebiotic meaning it feeds healthy bacteria, low glycemic, low carbohydrate, found in dairy, veggies and fruits so it’s naturally occurring.  It is noted that excessive consumption may have a laxative effect.

In using the liquid I do suggest only adding a drop or two at a time until the desired sweetness and flavor is achieved – I added too much at one time and it was not good so now I start with two drops and work my way up depending on what I’m making or drinking it with.  I like the fact that I can sweeten my drinks without worrying about that sugar crash later or the bitter aftertaste of some Stevia products.  When I use packets, which conveniently tuck in my purse for on-the-go sweetness, I only need a little bit – my current packet has so far sweetened 3 drinks and I still have some left!  This is a case of a little goes a long way.  The recipes on the NuNatural site are extensive, I haven’t tried them because some of the ingredients aren’t easily found where I grocery shop and I’m not good at substituting.

I cannot recommend enough the use of NuNaturals Stevia whether you’re looking for a healthy way to sweeten food and drinks or because you’re diabetic and need something that isn’t artificial or both.  Check out the website for information for discounts and money saving offers and check out the giveaway I’m hosting for not 1 winner but 4 winners for 4 bottles of NuNaturals Stevia.

  1. I regularly use Stevia in my tea and protein shakes. My favorite is Now Foods Liquid Stevia Glycerite…alcohol-free.

I have tried pure stevia in a packet but currently use Truvia for the most part. I have been looking for other forms as well. I was glad to see your review because I recently came upon Nunatural products and was thinking about trying them as well.

I have recently started using it in my tea. Considering I recently dropped my bottle on the floor, breaking it and spelling the contents, I would love to win!

  8. Alexis Plett says:

I’d be interested to try this for sure. I’ve heard of stevia, not the flavors though.

  9. I’ve tried some stevia and didn’t care for the bitter aftertaste, but I’ve also tried a bit of NuNaturals and was pleased with how it tasted!

  10. Helen May says:

I bought some stevia seeds so I could grow my own and use it. But I was unsuccessful. I than bought a plant and apparently I don’t have a green thumb and didn’t have it very long. Still haven’t tried stevia……would like to. I should really look up more information on growing it and how to use plant leaves…..there just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day!
