My Opinion:

I don’t know about your house but in mine Adventures in Odyssey is a big thing – if I know we’ll be in the van during a certain time I know when I can turn to a location radio station and tune in to the newest adventure, makes long car rides go faster and of course we own a couple of the CD’s too.  Whit’s End Mealtime Devotions bring together time with family over a shared meal with the Word of God into one easy to use book, that can be used anytime and anywhere.  Ninety devotions divided into 5 courses such as:

  • Mealtime prayer
  • Appetizer
  • Main Course
  • Table Talk
  • Vitamins and Minerals

There are everyday devotions, holiday devotions and theme devotions – to make memories of meals during every season.  I really like how the questions are given that require more than just yes or no, like “how is the Bible different from other books?” or “What stops you from giving sometimes?” – they require thinking and answers that actually relate to the theme and Bible verse.  Some may require minimal preparation, which adds more fun, like paper and pen, and gives a hands-on feel to the devotions – of course some of these could be done out loud as well.  We will be continuing to use this devotion book and I look forward to the next one coming out soon to add to our collection of Adventures in Odyssey.

  1. I just blogged about “Jungle Jam and Friends” audio series – do you know it? Started by one of the Adventure in Odyssey guys…
