Review of The Force by Alexandra and Joyce Swann #grow4christ

About the Book:

A dark force is rising….

Someone is murdering the world’s most beautiful women—over and over and over.

When Jarrod and Joshua Sinclair are called in to consult with the FBI about the Hollywood Starlet murders, they immediately suspect their old nemesis Josef Helmick of creating clones of famous women for a visiting Saudi prince. Wasting no time, they hire retired detective Fred Kowalski and send him to Dubai to uncover Josef’s base of operations and build a case against him for the murders.

But Fred soon discovers that Helmick is harboring a secret much darker than human trafficking. Fred must stop Josef before he resurrects an ancient, diabolical Force in order to bring the entire human race under his control.

You can purchase The Force (The Kingdom Chronicles) at Amazon.

My Opinion:

Before I begin telling you about The Force (The Kingdom Chronicles) I must begin by telling you about The Fourth Kingdom which is the first in this series.  I was given both books as part of the promo team and I wasn’t really sure what to think because I’ve never read a book by the authors before but The Fourth Kingdom kept me turning the pages and I was thoroughly wrapped up in the story – so much so that I had to go online to do my own research – some of the circumstances in the book aren’t discussed much in history books so I thought surely the authors must be embellishing – unfortunately, they weren’t.  So immediately upon finishing The Fourth Kingdom I moved right into The Force and usually the second book isn’t as good as the first but in this case it’s almost better than the first!

The Force picks up right where The Fourth Kingdom leaves off and while you could possibly just begin with The Force I’d recommend that you start by reading The Fourth Kingdom so that it’s easier to follow the characters and what exactly is propelling each of them in their lives.  In the first book you’re introduced to the Sinclair family and after years of infertility the couple finally welcomes not one but two boys into their home – twins – double the blessing at once! The Sinclairs know their boys are special and raise them to know and love God but after a meeting with Dr. Karl Helmick a collaboration begins but Dr. Alexander Sinclair is oblivious to what is going on at Helmick’s laboratory even though his wife continues to tell him that something isn’t right.  It was easy to figure out, to me, what was going on but the story had so many twists and turns that even though some of the story was easy to figure out the suspense more than made up for it.

The Force takes place several years after The Fourth Kingdom ends and now Josef Helmick and the Sinclair boys are all grown and haven’t seen each other for years – but they are never far from one another thoughts and rightfully so.  The Sinclairs long to know what happened to their parents and they believe that Helmick is the cause, and without giving any spoilers to the book – there is a reason for their suspicion.  Combining the past, present and the future into one book cannot be an easy endeavor but the mother daughter author team has succeeded – this book will keep you on the edge of your seat with the combined Faith, disbelief, science fiction and somewhat dystopian genre of the book and the authors have combined all of it into one fantastic book and series.  I’m looking forward to much more in the future!

Be on the watch for a giveaway I’ll be participating in as well in the very near future.
