Litfuse Publicity: The Revealing (The Inn at Eagle Hill book 3) by Suzanne Woods Fisher #grow4christ #bookreview

on July 9, 2014

About the Book:

Naomi King, soft spoken, loyal, and easily overlooked, has a gift. She sees what others can’t see. Intuition, she calls it. Others in Stoney Ridge don’t know what to make of it and dismiss her hunches and inklings altogether.

When a young woman arrives at the Inn at Eagle Hill with a shocking secret about Tobe Schrock, Naomi fears the worst. She can’t ignore the feeling that something sinister is at work— something more than a threat to the tenuous love begun between her and Tobe.

As signs mount, they begin to point to Jake Hertzler, the elusive mastermind behind Schrock Investments’ downfall. Soon, events spiral hopelessly out of control and Naomi must decide whether to listen to her head or her heart.

In this riveting conclusion to The Inn at Eagle Hill series, bestselling author Suzanne Woods Fisher pulls out all the stops with a fast-paced tale of deception, revelation, and just the right dose of romance.

My Opinion:

I read book 2 at the beginning of this year and really enjoyed it, but I still haven’t gotten to read book 1 so I requested book 3 so at least I know how everything wraps up until I can get to read book 1.  The Revealing was a great and fast read – Bethany still has times where panic and worry overwhelm and she eat antacids like candy and then there is Naomi who still suffers from migraines but not as often as in book 2 – and there is still the suspense, especially when an unwed, pregnant woman shows up – well I don’t want to give any spoilers so I won’t say much more, and the romance.  Leave it to Suzanne Woods Fisher to turn an Amish fiction book into a mystery and weave a story so believable that it almost seems as if it could come from the headlines of a modern day paper.  Thankfully, I didn’t have the issue that I had with book 2 in having not read the first book and not knowing what was going on and who was who – this book was much easier to piece together and figure it all out – the only reason to read the first one is so I can say I’ve read the whole series.

While still including characters from the other books like the elderly sisters whose fourteenth cousin twice removed comes to visit to do some genealogy work but then Bethany comes to realize the cousin isn’t all he says he is, and of course Rose and Galen, Naomi and Tobe and Bethany and Jimmy – the reader is in for a real treat if they’ve been following the whole series, if not please start with The Letters and then The Calling.  Again, there are several over arching plots through out the book and you have to be careful to keep them straight so that when everything comes together at the end you will be left with a wonderful a-ha moment, even if, once you’ve read the end you feel like you’ve lost some friends.  I truly enjoyed this book and maybe they’ll be a spin off series or at least we’ll see some of the characters from this book pop into another one!
